How to Manage a compute instance?

a. How to view a list of all instances?

To view a list of all compute instances, follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Login to your account.

Step 2: Navigate to Compute and then click on Instances. Here, you can view the list of all instances.

b. How to create an instance?

To create an instance, follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Click on Create Instance.

Step 2: Enter the instance details and hit Next.

Step 3: Click on Select Source, then select the source type from the drop-down.

Step 4: Choose your source specification, select your flavor, and click on Next.

Note: If your flavor is unavailable, create a ticket with your specifications.

Step 5: Select the Key Pair, upload your script file or write it manually, and click Next. (If no Key Pair is available, click here to view how to create one.)

Note: The volume size will be automatically filled based on the specification selected. Select Delete boot volume on instance delete to delete the volume on instance deletion.

Step 6: Choose a network, select the Security Groups, and click Next. (You can also create a security group. Click here to learn how.)

Step 7: Review your details and click on Launch Instance.

c. How do I update the name of an instance?

To edit the name of an instance, follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Choose the instance that you want to update, and click on the action icon.

Step 2: Choose Edit Instance from the drop-down.

Step 3: Enter the updated Name and click on Submit.

d. How to delete an instance?

To delete an instance, follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Select the checkbox against the instance that you want to delete.

Step 2: Click on the Delete icon.

Step 3: Click on Delete to confirm the deletion.

e. How to view an Instance overview?

To view an instance overview, follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Choose the instance for which you want to view the overview and click on the Instance Name.

Step 2: Here, you can view the instance overview.
