How to Manage a compute instance?
a. How to view a list of all instances?
To view a list of all compute instances, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Login to your account.
Step 2: Navigate to Services and then click on My Services.
Step 3: Click on your project.
Step 4: Navigate to Compute and then click on Instances. Here, you can view the list of all instances.
b. How to create an instance?
To create an instance, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Click on Create Instance.
Step 2: Enter the instance details and hit Next.
Step 3: Click on Source, then select your specification from the Boot Source drop-down.
Step 4: Volume size will be automatically filled based on the specification selected. Toggle Delete Volume On Instance Delete if you want to delete the volume on instance deletion.
Step 5: Click on Flavor, choose your flavor, and click Next. If your flavor is unavailable, create a ticket with your specifications.
Step 6: Choose a network of your own choice.
Step 9: Click on Submit.
c. How do I update the name of an instance?
To edit the name of an instance, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Choose the instance that you want to update, click Select, and choose Edit Instance from the drop-down.
Step 2: Enter the updated Name and Description and click on Update Details.
d. How to delete an instance?
To delete an instance, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Select the checkbox against the instance that you want to delete.
Step 2: Click on Delete.
Step 3: Click on Delete Instance to confirm the deletion.
e. How to view an Instance overview?
To view an instance overview, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Choose the instance for which you want to view the overview and click on Instance Name.
Step 2: Here, you can view the instance overview.
